Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte
showed the transaction history of his dollar account at Bank of the Philippine
Islands in a press conference on Wednesday, amid allegations that he had hidden
wealth.
The documents showed that he had a
little over $5,000 in the account dating back to March 2014.
Duterte noted that the only deposit
to the account since then was by the camp of rival presidential bet Mar Roxas,
who dared the tough-talking local executive last week to bare details about his
wealth.
The document showed a deposit of $10
made at the New Farmers branch of the bank. Roxas last week presented as proof
of Duterte's dollar account a transaction slip depositing the amount.
