A die hard fan and an avid supporter of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has showed his full support to Tatay Digong after he decided to give Duterte a small gift or “Aguinaldo”.
A man named Leno Montacarlo Cupay ordered a customized pair of sneakers in Nike after he was inspired by the photo of Duterte where in the sole of his shoe separates from the shoe itself.
Duterte was known for his simple outfits, simple house, and simple lifestyle and after he realized that the photo is already viral online, he jokingly stated that his shoes got broken after his supporters stepped on it in a campaign really.
The shoes will have “Rodrigo” and “DU” etched on the left pair and “Duterte” and “30” on the right. Its color will also be patterned after the Philippine flag, which is supposedly the outspoken mayor’s favorite color. Cupay also posted a screenshot of the order and acknowledgement receipt from Nike.
The size-9 sneakers would cost Cupay $225 (P10,632) plus $20.25 (P956) tax for a total of $245.25 (P11,588.00) at prevailing dollar rate.
“We’ll get started on the right away and keep you up to date on our progress,”
Nike said in its acknowledgement receipt. Meanwhile, Cupay’s FB post went viral on Facebook and has now been shared more than 15,000 times.
